Karachi—Yahya Bin Shahid of Adamjee Government Science College secured first position in the HSC Annual Examinations 2012. The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) announced the result on Monday.
Yahya bin Shahid obtained 1,000 marks out of the total of 1,100 with a percentage of 90.90. Mariam Malik of the BAMM PECHS Government College for Women with 983 marks remained second.
The third position went to Muhammad Zaheer of the Aga Khan Higher Secondary School. He got 977 marks. According to statistics, a total of 25,384 candidates appeared in the examinations and of these 14,374 were declared as successful with a pass percentage of 56.65.
Of the total number of successful candidates 1,372 were placed in A-1 grade and 2,882 in A grade. As many as 3,483 got the B grade and 3,966 were placed in C grade while 2,557 in D grade. Some 119 candidates passed their examinations with E grade.
A BIEK statement said that the marks statements will be issued after two weeks from the respective institutions.—APP
