World XI team will comprise of players from South Africa, West Indies, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. They will be captained by Sanath Jaysuriya whereas Alvin Kallicharan is given duties of coach and manager. Shahid Afridi will lead the Pakistan XI.

The other notable names who will be touring are Justin Kemp and Andre Nel (South Africa). Both have visited Pakistan before. Kemp was vice-captain of the South African ODI team which came to play ODI Series in 2007 whereas Nel, who has also played a Test in Karachi, visited twice in 2003 and 2007.

Last year, Afghanistan toured to play 3 unofficial One Day matches at Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Faisalabad. But this tour by World XI will be first time since the terrorist attack on Sri Lankan Cricket Team in 2009 that some famous players will be touring Pakistan, albeit for exhibition matches.

All the security and logistical arrangements are made by Shah with help from local government in Karachi.
