The University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar (or UET Peshawar) is a public, coeducational, university located inPeshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province (Formerly known as NWFP) Pakistan. The Earthquake Engineering Center of the Civil Engineering department played a key role after the October 8, 2005 earthquake. Its main campus in Peshawar is off the University Road in the University Campus area. The medium of the instruction is English. The university was also known as NWFP University of Engineering and Technology before the change of its province name from NWFP to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. For over a hundred years from its founding as a province of British India in 1901, it was known as the North-West Frontier Province (NWFP).
