Ramkot Fort is an ancient fort situated in Azad Kashmir, Pakistan beside the Mangla Dam. It is accessible through boat and 13 kilometers away from Dina.and 79 km by road journey from mirpur(azad kashmir)to Dadyal village.and the fort is away from dadyal by walk 30 mins.

the best season for the visit of fort is july to September .because in that time the lake is full of water in those days.otherwise in other months the lake is dry and if u reach at the fort there is a treking way 8 km by foot and the way is horrible .whenever you go there water must b carry with you..

Located on the summit of a hill, Ramkot Fort is built over the site of an old Hindu Shiva temple. three sides of this hill top are surrounded by the River Jhelum. During excavations relics of the 5th – 9th century AD have been discovered near one of the temples. In the 16th – 17th century AD the Muslim rulers of Kashmir in safe guarding their boundaries built numerous forts. Ramkot, sitting atop at the confluence of the river Jhelum is one of them. The Sikh Maharaja of Kashmir further fortified Ramkot.

There are no direct flights to Azad Kashmir.

By Land

Traveling by road to Azad Kashmir is itself an attraction as you come across the most beautiful scenes of winding rivers and hills. It takes about 4 to 5 hours from Islamabad to Muzaffarabad in a car or van. You also pass through the beauty of hills the Murree during the journey. This is the shortest route to this city.

Buses and MPVs leave from IslamabadPakistan approximately every 20 minutes for different destinations in Azad Kashmir.
