Karachi university signs MoU with Mauritius University

KARACHI: The University of Karachi (KU) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the University of Mauritius (MU), with the objective to initiate academic exchange and scientific cooperation. An official of the International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) on Wednesday said that Director ICCBS Prof Dr Muhammad Iqbal Chaudhary and Director Quality Assurance of University of Mauritius Dr B F Khodabocus, signed the MoU in Karachi. He said that the basic objective of the agreement was to initiate and promote scientific cooperation and academic exchange in various fields of sciences between University of Mauritius and KU. He said, “The University of Mauritius is a research institution founded in 1965. It offers part-time and full-time programmes of studies in a wide range of academic disciplines, giving increasing importance to postgraduate training, research and consultancy with a view to respond to the current and emerging needs of the various sectors of the economy. However, KU is recognised as the premier establishment of higher learning and research in the sub-continent and in the developing world, graded as 233 in world ranking of universities in natural sciences.” staff report
