The second Islamic Summit Conference was held in Lahore.

On the occasion of the second Islamic Summit held at Lahore on February 22, 1974, thirty-nine heads of Muslim states offered their Friday prayers in the Badshahi Masjid, led by Maulana Abdul Qadir Azad, the ‘Khatib’ of the mosque.

Islamic Summit is an oblisk shape structure built near Charing Cross, Mall Road, Lahore Pakistan. It was built in memory of Islamic Conference held here in 1974. Its foundation stone was laid on 22 February 1974 on the first anniversary of the conference. It is 155 feet high.
Its a monument designed in the spirit of Islamic unity commemorates the second Islamic Conference held at Lahore in 1974 and in which all heads of the Islamic world gathered to symbolise the Islamic unity and faith. The monument, composed of an obelisk and reflecting pool, completes the design of an urban square. Below ground are spaces for museum display, meeting rooms, and a small auditorium.
