Hamdard University is a private institution of higher education in Karachi Pakistan. The university was founded in 1991 by Hakim Saidof the Hamdard Foundation. Hamdard University, founded in 1991, was the first private sector university of the country and owns the largest campus than any other private university in Pakistan.

The degree programs offered by the University are approved by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and other accrediting bodies such as Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC), Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC),Pharmacy Council of Pakistan (PCP), Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) and National Council for Tibb (NCT). Hamdard College of Medicine and Dentistry (HCM&D) is also a recognized by College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan(CPSP) for postgraduate training.

Hamdard University has the largest campus of any private university in Pakistan, covering 350 acres (1.4 km2). The university is located 28 km (17 mi) from the commercial centre of Karachi on the main highway leading to Bund Murad Khan, near the Sindh-Balochistan provincial border. The University is currently ranked at No.10 in Higher Education Commission rankings of general category universities
