Foundation University, Islamabad is a Pakistani university which was granted charter in 2002. It is a federal state university with its headquarters in Islamabad; its three institutions are located in Rawalpindi. The institutions include Foundation University Institute of Engineering and Management Sciences (FUIEMS) formerly known as Fauji Foundation Institute of Management and Computer Sciences (FFIMCS), Foundation University Medical College (FUMC) formerly known as Fauji Foundation Medical College (FFMC) and Foundation University College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (FUCLAS). It is run by the Fauji Foundation, the foundation for ex-service army personnel in Pakistan. The Foundation University Islamabad (FUI) has been established as a private sector university. It is sponsored by the Fauji Foundation which is the largest welfare organization in the country having vast human and financial resources.The Foundation University Islamabad (FUI) was granted the Charter by the Federal Government vide Ordinance No. LXXXVIII of 2002 as promulgated by the President of Pakistan and notified in the Gazette of Pakistan. The University has been established as a center of excellence to provide quality education of international standards to the talented students.
